Large press lines are the giants among forming lines. But an interlinked process of several forming presses can also be profitable for smaller press shops. After all, press linking is also possible with C-frame presses. In such concepts, it is usually not the die size or the required press force that is the reason for distributing the individual die stages to different forming presses. The reason here is usually the much more economical production of small and medium quantities.

Press Linking - Success with various Automation Concepts

Depending on the size of the forming presses to be linked, DREHER Automation offers the user a wide range of automation concepts for press linking.

DREHER Automation offer material feeding for press lines via:

• Coil with coil processing line
• Blank with blank destacker

We link forming presses with:

• Feeder automation resp. linear robots
• Transfer automation

The most flexible solution for press linking is a feeder automation. Our feeders resp. linear robots are specially designed for handling tasks in the press shop and are particularly suitable for linking processes. The robust and flexible feeder automation technology from DREHER Automation enables maximum output with maximum availability thanks to linear motion sequences and highly dynamic servo drive technology.

Alternatively, we offer our customers automation concepts based on our transfer automation, with one-sided or two-sided transfer bars with a continuous transfer rail or with individual transfer units. However, in general, our customers always benefit from the absolute flexibility of our automation technology. It does not matter how many axes need to be controlled or whether special motion sequences (e.g. crossbar motion) have to be run. Whether position-controlled or angle-synchronous, wether time-controlled or dynamic: DREHER Automation will always provide you with the right solution.

In sector of C-frame press linking, we offer you a technically and economically coherent overall solution, including the C-frame presses, in addition to consistent press automation and our competent project management.

Comprehensive Control Concept for a highly productive overall Process

Our control concept, developed together with Siemens, rounds off our coherent system concept across all system components. In close cooperation with Siemens, we have developed an integrated control concept. It consists of the Simotion D motion control system, inverters from the Sinamics S120 family and the latest generation of energy-efficient servo motors from the 1FK series.

At DREHER Automation, we know the productivity-increasing influence of user-friendly and self-explanatory operation and visualisation. For this reason, our system visualization is realized on spacious touch panels at a central location via WinnCC (TIA portal). Synoptics for automatic operation and sequence synoptics for tool changes are mandatory for all our customers.

The longevity of our systems is well-known in the industry. This is also guaranteed by our excellent After Sales Service. For “just-in-time support”, all our systems are equipped with remote maintenance access.
